Chemical peels are a safe and effective treatment. The type and depth of chemical peel solution will be determined during your consultation by assessing your current skin condition, skin type and aims for treatment.
Chemical peels help in addressing acne, pigmented skin, fine lines and wrinkles and sun damage.The treatment is not painful but can give a warm tingling sensation when applied. They can be combined with other treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers to enhance results. You will be given bespoke aftercare instructions after your treatment.
What happens at my consultation?
You will meet with Dr Harmony to discuss your treatment aims and what treatment is suitable for you. Dr Harmony will take an extensive medical history to ensure treatment is safe for you. Bring along any medications or a list of them if you are currently taking any.
Am I suitable for this treatment?
Chemical peels have been shown to be safe in a variety of different patients. If you have any health conditions or are currently taking any medication, please disclose this to us at your appointment. These treatments are unsuitable for patients that are pregnant or breastfeeding
Will it hurt?
Will we ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. Most report a mild tingling sensation but chemical peels should not be painful.
Will I see skin shedding?
it depends on how deep the chemical peel is. Superficial chemical peels are unlikely to show much or very minimal skin shedding. Deep chemical peels can show skin shedding for 4 to 5 days.
